- Flat, elliptical illumination beam produced by HEINE AOS
- Observation Path
- Redirected Iris and Corneal Reflections
- The elliptical light beam enters through the lower half of the cornea. The illumination beam has been separated from the observation path (Gullstrand-Principle). All reflexes are diverted away from the observation beam due to the curvature of the reflective cornea. Due to the flat, compressed form of the light beam, a maximum amount of light enters through the pupil
- Once past the anterior chamber, the light beam opens up dramatically to illuminate a large area of the retina
- Preparation: Switch off the device and allow it to cool down.
- Manual cleaning and disinfection: Pay attention that all surfaces are completely moistened for the complete exposure time specified by the disinfectant manufacturer. If necessary, increase the number of wipes
- Equipment: Cleaning agent, disinfectant (alcoholic or quarternary ammonium compounds).Do not use foam disinfectants.
- Implementation: For heavier soiling first clean with a wipe soaked with cleaning agent then disinfect. Pay particular attention to hard to access areas.
- Inspection and function testing: Check the device for any visible contaminants or abrasions. Reprocess again if necessary.
