The advantages of using Tono-Pen AVIA tonometer:

  • No Calibration Required: Tono-Pen AVIA does not require routine calibration, saving time and reducing the need for device maintenance.
  • Award-Winning Ergonomic Design: The tonometer has an ergonomic design with soft-touch grips, ensuring comfortable use and consistent measurement technique among operators.
  • Simple One Button Operation: Taking a measurement with Tono-Pen AVIA is as simple as pressing the button once.  The device is ready to use when the light turns green, and a short beep indicates when the measurement is complete.
  • Less Sensitive to Corneal Centration: Tono-Pen AVIA utilizes micro-strain gauge technology, making it less sensitive to corneal centration compared to other tonometers.  This results in fast, accurate, and repeatable measurements with minimal operator bias.
  • Technician Friendly: The tonometer's user-friendly features, such as one button operation, ergonomic design, and statistical confidence indicator, make it easy to delegate the use of Tono-Pen AVIA to technicians.  Minimal training is required to obtain reliable IOP measurements.
  • Gravity Independent: Unlike most other tonometers, Tono-Pen AVIA can be used in any position, allowing for easy measurement of patients in wheelchairs or beds.
  • Large Dual Sided Screens: The tonometer displays the IOP measurement on two large, easy-to-read LCD screens, making it suitable for both left and right-handed users.
  • Quick-Tap® Measurement Mode: Tono-Pen AVIA offers two measurement modes.  The traditional First Generation Mode provides an IOP measurement typically in five taps, while the Quick-Tap® Second Generation Measurement Mode allows for a reliable IOP measurement in as few as two taps.  This feature is particularly useful for children and less cooperative patients.
  • Long-Life Battery: Tono-Pen AVIA has a long-life battery and an on-screen battery indicator, ensuring that the device is always ready for use.  The removable Tono-Pen AVIA Powercel® Battery Pack can be easily replaced without the need for tools.
