What is the difference between a 115V and 130V CAX bulb?
115V Bulb: Assuming you are using this lamp in a standard US 125V outlet, it may produce more light but could experience a shorter lifespan and the bulb may have a shorter lifespan due to increased stress on its components.
130V Bulb: This bulb is designed to handle voltages closer to 130V, providing a greater tolerance for variations in the power supply. It can be more resilient to voltage fluctuations, especially in areas where the voltage tends to be higher.

How do I prolong the life of my bulbs?
- Use the Right Bulb: Make sure you are using the correct type and wattage of bulb for your equipment & fixtures.
- Avoid Frequent On/Off: While turning off lights when not needed is advisable, frequent on/off cycles can reduce the lifespan of certain types of bulbs, especially incandescent ones. However, turn the equipment off when not using for a prolonged period of time to conserve energy.
- Keep the Bulbs Clean: Finger oil and dirt can accumulate on the surface of a bulb, reducing its brightness and causing it to heat up more. Gently clean bulbs with a soft cloth or alcohol pad when cool to remove fingerprints and dirt.
- Choose Quality Bulbs: Invest in high-quality bulbs from reputable manufacturers. While they may be more expensive initially, they often last longer and provide better performance. Why aren't there LED equivalents for everything?

- Compatibility: Some fixtures and applications may not be designed to accommodate LED bulbs. For instance, some vintage or decorative fixtures may rely on the unique characteristics of traditional incandescent bulbs, and finding a suitable LED replacement that can be challenging.
- Regulatory Issues: Some regulations and standards may dictate specific requirements for certain types of lighting in certain applications. Meeting these standards with LED technology may require additional considerations and design modifications.
- Color Temperature and Quality: While LED technology has improved in terms of color rendering and temperature options, achieving the exact color characteristics of certain traditional bulbs can still be a challenge. Some consumers may prefer the warm glow of incandescent bulbs, and replicating this precisely with LED technology may not always be straightforward.
- Lack of Consumer Demand: In some cases, there might be a lack of sufficient demand for LED equivalents for certain types of light bulbs. Manufacturers may prioritize developing products that have a higher market demand.
What is the difference between the 366, 900-930 and the 900-930-LS bulbs?
The 366, 900-930 and 900-930-LS bulbs are all designed to be used in the Haag-Streit 900 slit lamp.
- 900-930 lamp is OEM (original equipment manufacturer) lamp that we purchase directly from Haag-Streit.The lamp is the most expensive of the 3. In 2018, Haag-Streit moved their sourcing from the US to Switzerland, making this lamp the most expensive due to increased shipping costs to get the lamp.
- 366 lamp is the standard "equivalent" or "generic" to the original Haag-Streit bulb.Both bulbs have the same technical specifications (6.5V/4A) but they have different filaments. More often than not, this filament difference will not have an effect on the functionality of the 366 in your equipment.
- 900-930-LS is Lite Source's version of the Haag-Streit slit lamp bulb. While not technically an OEM, we have partnered with the original US lampmaker to assemble these lamps based on the OEM prior to Haag-Streit moving their sourcing overseas in 2018. The 900-930-LS is a German lamp, assembled in the US with US parts.
